So as a continuation of my exploring alternate 40k resources, today I'm going to post about Dragon Forge, a site that specializes in detailed resin bases, conversion bits, and even a bit of diorama and terrain pieces!   Now I have been working on a 1750 Iron Warrior army for a while now, and I just couldn't seem to get a base that I liked.  I'm pretty sure some of us have been there, where we just get tired of trying to get the base to look like that warzone we had in our head, and instead just slap some sand on it and don't look back.  I was pretty much at that point when I ran across Dragon Forge's site, and their line of resin bases.

Now needless to say, as an Iron Warrior fan I had been trying to base my marines in the act of storming and destroying some hapless city, and I was instantly taken with the Urban Wasteland set of bases.  I was happy to see that their sets were actually a bit cheaper than most competitors, and also the site seemed to have more variety, having several sets of each size (25mm, 40mm, ect...) and even had some Heroic bases too to help make your characters stand out.

I ordered 3 sets of 25mm bases (30 bases) a set of 40mm (5 bases), both heroic sets (3 bases), two 60mm, and even one of the oval 120mmx95mm bases.  Total came out to about $66.50 USD, including shipping from Canada, which I was happy with considering the looks of the bases, and the price difference to other suppliers.  Now the only downside so far is that shipping is going to likely take a while (10 business days or thereabouts), but I am expecting them tomorrow so I'll post up my reactions then.  Meanwhile let it be said that the variety of bases, the detail of the sculpts, and the lower competitive prices make me think it will be a great deal once I get my hands on them.  Also they provide square bases for all you fantasy players as well!  Until next time! May the dice Gods favor you!
